美元強勢，新興市場資金從區內不斷流走，今年迄今，里拉兌美元瀉41%、阿根廷披索挫36%、俄羅斯盧布、巴西雷亞爾、南非蘭特亦跌12%至15%。主要貨幣兌美元錄得上升的，只有日圓年內漲1.7%，人口最多的中國及印度，離岸人幣年內倒跌5.2%，印度盧比則跌7.2%。再冷門一些國家如智利、菲律賓、印尼、波蘭甚至匈牙利，該國貨幣兌美元年內亦跌6至8%。
