The panel opened with a Season 3 sizzle reel, in which Kara says. “Kara Danvers was a mistake.” According to Kara, trying to be human “was a mistake” and that she is in fact an alien.

“The first two seasons, she’s trying to… figure out her identity,” Benoist said, describing Kara as trying to strike a balance between Supergirl and her alter ego Kara Danvers. “When we pick up on Season 3, the scale is leaning very heavily on Supergirl.”

Calista Flockhart will appear as Cat Grant in the premiere of Season 3.

Asked if Kara may not have a love interest this year, Benoist said, “From what I’ve seen so far, she really is trusting herself and only herself right now. Obviously, relying on her friends, but she’s been pretty self-reliant so far, which is nice.”

“We love having Superman on the show, so there no immediate episodes with Superman,” Queller revealed. However, schedule permitting, they would have Tyler Hoechlin back.
