I took a Computer Science course 44 years ago. The TA was from Eastern Europe. I couldn't understand a word he said except "computer".

totally agree. if people want to get in ubc or UofT, they can choose other major and it's a lot easier to get in
For engineering, my frds got low 90s at high school but still couldn't get in.
interview and awards are also important
