The club’s recent decision of making 55 staff members redundant raised my concern. I write to you to urge the club to reconsider the decision.
The club’s first-team squad has generously taken a 12.5% cut of their salary, with the promise that this money would help to keep jobs in the club. It’s sad to hear that the board is unable to keep the promise, and the kindness of our players has been taken advantage of.
The motive behind the cut also seems suspicious. With the immense cooperation with the infamous Kia Joorabchian, this cut seems to aim for a managerial change covered up by addressing the funding difficulties caused by COVID-19. The board should reveal more information to assure the fans that Arsenal is not, and will never become, a plaything of super agents.
Even if the cut aims for addressing the funding difficulties caused by COVID-19, considering the big-name transfers linked to the club this summer, it seems that the club values new big-names and club finance over its promises and the interest of loyal members.
As an over-sea Arsenal fan with no connection to English communities, I support Arsenal for the values of this club. The club is supposed to be honest, loyal and committed, and the victory should be gained through harmony. By abandoning 55 staff members in a global pandemic, the board has failed to take care of the said values. Such failure makes me question the reasons of supporting the club.
伊度希望阿仙奴轉向一種以數據和分析為主導的方法,這種方法對於利物浦和曼城這樣的大球隊已經證明是成功的,而不是讓球探專門研究世界各地球員的老式系統。
