The Last of Us Part II boxed sales data for Japan are out and it seems the game has dropped severely in its second week. According to the reports, The Last of Us Part II sales in Japan has dropped by a massive 85% week-on-week.

To be accurate, it’s 85.45%.
Earlier, we reported on how The Last of Us Part II boxed sales dropped 80% week-on-week in the UK. Some said it wasn’t unusual, but if you compare the drop to other Sony first-party titles, it’s very significant.
Keep in mind, these are data for retail only and not digital sales.
To compare the figures, Uncharted 4, another Naughty Dog game, saw a 78% drop in sales during its second week. In contrast, Marvel’s Spider-Man boxed sales dropped by 42% in its second week with God of War seeing a 35% fall in sales. Days Gone, on the other hand, saw a 60% drop.
To talk figures, The Last of Us Part II sold a whopping 178,696 retail copies in its first week in Japan. The game easily ranked #1 in the sales chart for the same week. In the second week, it plummeted to the 4th position, by selling only 25,993 retail copies, getting beat by Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ring Fit Adventure, and Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics.
