Hopefully he did not have any bad intention or try to look down upon young people.
It is SUPER CRITICAL and IMPORTANT that you keep on building value EACH DAY! Younger age does have an advantage as compared to older folks in terms of speed of learning and brain power.

點解我強調國外同香港係兩個唔同既經濟圈，
無論國外既經濟圈圈點強大，
都唔及香港既經濟圈圈強大造成既威脅重要。
