Stand with Hong Kong, Boycott China

Not necessarily true. For those (like me) who live in other countries, it’s easier for us to boycott Chinese products because of the choices that are available to us. On the other hand, I feel like hongkongers have less of a choice simply due to the proximity to China, Chinese’s monopoly on Hong Kong’s food market, and the availability of China-backed/owned stores.
For Americans and Canadians, we can choose to shop less at big box stores, such as Walmart, that sell mostly cheap Chinese-made products and shop at local mom-and-pops stores instead. In bigger urban centres like Vancouver and Toronto, people are already aware of the importance of buying local products and supporting the local economy. It’s viable to push for boycotting Chinese products using this narrative.
