J到冇停手 2019-10-13 20:41:03 How's US civilians think about all those Chinese people made jokes disrespectfully on 911 attack on D. Money's Twitter ac?
Catoxin 2019-10-13 20:56:14 Welcome! I hope you will like lihkg as I do. I applied the account after the movement started and soon I am attracted by the young culture here, although I need sometime to adapt haha
:^(

If you don't mind, I wanna ask:
1. Do US people think CCP is a terrible threat to the world of freedom? or a threat of US? or just something like Russia only politicians need to worry about it?
2. Could US people generally distinguish the different between CCP "culture" (=actually, rogue soldiers of Mo mixed with Russian community) and the real China culture (=inherit from the ancient china) ?
3. Personal question: Ironman or Captain?

I always wonder whether sentiment toward China differs by demographics and geographic in America.
真絲美 2019-10-14 02:39:39 Hello Chap Bro, Welcome to LIHKG.
單身新人王 2019-10-14 09:07:59 do you think the protesters nowadays become violence?
or you think the action we take is still acceptable?

JER細老婆劣 2019-10-14 09:14:12 what would you feel as American if protester killed a Popo?
Do you think that's justified? Would you lose faith in the cause?
Would you then stop supporting the revolution?
Thanks!
chapstick 2019-10-14 09:39:14 Hi everyone, I’m back! Thank you so much for all of the warm welcomes and questions!

I’m going to try to respond to every one of you — except the person who requested nudes, since I already got married in this thread and I’m not a cheater
:^(

I’m busy with school at the moment, so my responses may be slow and short. I apologize for that.

I wonder if HKPF will mail me a package containing a teargas grenade and a baton. “Sir, we see that you are a cockroach, but we cannot come all the way to America to beat you. Please throw the enclosed teargas grenade at yourself and use the baton to beat yourself. Regards, HKPF.”
chapstick 2019-10-14 10:00:29 This is a good question. r/HongKong is growing rapidly, and the demographics are starting to shift as many more westerners join the subreddit. In general, though, I think opinions on Reddit and on LIHKG are similar. In general, Reddit is quite critical of the CCP and HKPF/government. However, LIHKG seems to be better informed about local HK news items and protest strategy.

I came to LIHKG to get opinions from people who are on the front lines, or who are otherwise actively involved with the fight. That kind of voice is beginning to be diluted on Reddit due to the increasing awareness of our struggle.

And I hope you HKers don’t mind me saying “our struggle”, because I feel united with you in this effort.
chapstick 2019-10-14 10:06:30 This is another really good question. I think the events with the NBA and blizzard in the past few days have showed us that the censorship pressure from the CCP on the western entertainment industry is where the general public begins to pay attention. So, I think we should really work on spreading awareness about the censorship efforts of the CCP, and we should really spread the long list of multinational corporations who have silently censored themselves in the name of earning RMB. The actions of these companies directly oppose American ideals, and if you can show the average person or the average consumer that freedom of speech is being in directly threatened, I think we can get a lot of people to pay attention.
chapstick 2019-10-14 10:07:10 I love you too Ching

chapstick 2019-10-14 10:12:11 I’m really sorry to hear that. Unfortunately America generally has a high crime rate compared to essentially anywhere in Asia. There are multiple reasons for this but those are beyond the scope of this thread.

chapstick 2019-10-14 10:59:43 I do think he stands a chance. I’m not happy about what has happened with the Kurds. I hope he decides to firmly support you guys. In general, people are very polarized about him. Either they support him or they don’t - there’s very little middle ground.
