Hi there, I'm a reporter at SCMP and I would like to write a story about the Parachute app.
But first I need to find out if anyone is actually using this app. I was wondering if you could tell me if this app has been downloaded by protesters in Hong Kong and how popular it is?
Sorry for the English, I can't speak Cantonese but I can read Chinese simplified ;)

Hi, thank you for the message. Currently parachute app is trending #14 overall in HK among free apps, and on 4 Aug (two days ago) it was trending #3. I just found this app useful and shared about it here. I don't think it is solely used by protestors, as many citizens (civilians) who are concerned about personal safety may find the app to be useful.
If you wish, I can help put you in touch with someone from the parachute team, as I have been in contact with them to ask some technical questions from other forum users.
